It is a relatively cheap thing to do and there is really no reason why you should not do it. You should also consider advertising your new health business in traditional media such as newspapers, radio and TV. You will most likely need to limit yourself to local media, but since most of your customers/patients will be local, this might actually be perfect.
You should also consider attending and exhibiting at health trade shows which are a great way not just to promote your business, but to find out more about the competition and the people that are your target customer/patient base.
Finally, never underestimate the power of word to mouth advertising. This means that you should always ensure your patients and customers are satisfied and that they will recommend your health business to their friends and family. This is the most organic and the most effective form of marketing so make sure that everyone is happy when they leave your practice/shop/other type of business.

Online marketing is something that has become a thing only in the last decade or so and we are currently at a stage where it might actually become the most effective and the most important form of marketing for any commercial endeavor, including a health business. The problem is that many business owners do not understand this. The good thing about online marketing is that it is much, much cheaper than traditional advertising techniques, even if you hire an online marketing agency to do it for you. Creating a Facebook page will not cost you a thing and it will be the perfect place to let your customers/patients spread the good word. You should also register your business with various directories where people look for the stuff they need in the health industry.
There are two ways in which you can approach your online marketing. If you wish, you can do it all pretty much by yourself, being active on social networks, registering with various directories and letting your people talk for you. Or, you can hire professionals and let them do the work for you by designing and maintaining a superb, professional website, by making sure your name comes up high in the search engine results and so on.
The important thing is that you do some marketing for your health business. It does not matter how small it is and what you are trying to achieve.
