Ovaries are female reproductive glands and located in the pelvic region. It is located on each side of the uterus which produces eggs and other related hormones in the body. Ovaries are known for controlling certain functions like body hair and breasts.
There are however different kinds of cysts like the functional cysts that are the common thing to occur. There is also the follicular cyst which occurs only in the menstrual stage and more so because it fails to release the egg. But this cyst disappears in some days or maximum 3 months.
Basic level of information is required as it helps you understand the situation better and aware with symptoms around you. The first thing you need to know is the symptoms. The symptoms as such are common recurring ones and the ovarian cyst symptoms are as follows:
- Headache
- Pain in the pelvic region
- The blood tissues might get affected leading to bleeding
- Hair growth
- Weight gain
- The bleeding might be excessive and painful at the time of menstruation
- Stretching of the body
If the pain in the pelvic region is come together with vomiting and fever, visit your doctor as soon as possible. The diagnosis is done with the help of an ultrasound where you can see the actual size and the number of cysts. The doctor will inform you about the whole condition and suggesting a treatment.
With the least number of cysts and in the smallest possible size, the condition can be brought to normal state. The menstrual cycle that was initially disturbed comes back to normal through birth control pills. Some people try natural methods to get rid of it by taking in certain fruits and vegetables.
The major step that need to be taken is when the cysts are too large and can only be removed through surgery where the cyst ovary will be removed through laparoscopy. Believe it or not, sometimes ovary cyst removal is the only option to go in order to solve the problem.
