Daily Weight Loss Tips That Work

Alex ChrisBy Alex ChrisOctober 5, 201012 Comments3 Mins Read

Obesity is at race with smoking on the leading cause of preventable deaths. It has been a global health concern because it does not only affect adults but even young children as well. This article provides 5 daily weight loss tips that actually work and are very easy to follow.

Tip #1 Breakfast like a King, Lunch like a Prince, and Dinner like a Pauper

A major part of losing weight is controlling what you put inside your mouth. It is important to consume just enough calories that are proportional to your energy spending. Furthermore it is equally important to properly distribute these calories. This means, breakfast should be the biggest meal because most of the activities happen in the morning, moderate food serving for moderate activities in the afternoon and small serving for dinner because you’ll just need a small amount of energy for physiologic functioning as you sleep.

Tip #2 Get the farthest parking space

Like most people, I am a busy person thus I hardly find time to go to the gym for a serious workout. So, I try to wake up early so I can afford to park my car on the farthest parking space and just walk to the office. Also, I try to take the stairs instead of the elevator if I still have time.

Tip #3 Do not be a couch potato

Studies show that TV viewing is associated with weight gain. This is because people who sit in front of the TV for a prolonged time tend to munch on just about anything without minding the kind and quantity of the snack. Personally, I limit myself to an hour or two of TV viewing daily with a carrot or celery sticks for snacks.

Tip #4 Play with the kids

I make sure that I have enough time to take the kids to the park. The kids and I spend 30mins-1 hour in there. We run, jump, slide, swing, crawl, and do just about anything a normal kid would do. The great thing about this is that not only the kids and I get an exercise but we get a chance to bond as well.

    Tip #5 Avoid stressors

Stressors are everywhere, especially in the office, so what I do is breathe in, breathe out, and clear my mind so I can think of a good solution on how to resolve a problem effectively. As much as I can, I block all stressors around me because stress lowers serotonin levels that can result to uncontrollable food cravings. After all, Stressed spelled backwards is desserts. Coincidence? I think not!
